Pump Solutions Group (PSG) to Acquire the Swiss Maag Group

From Pumps & Systems Magazine: Pump Solutions Group (PSG), a business unit within the Engineered Systems segment of Dover Corporation, announced today it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Maag Group headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. The acquisition includes Maag Pump Systems, Automatik® Pelletizing Systems and Maag Filtration Systems.

The Maag Group will operate as a business unit within PSG, seeking to provide enhanced customer value and shareholder return by leveraging the synergies of the businesses. Maag posted 2011 revenue of approximately $170 million. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals, and is expected to close around the end of the first quarter of 2012. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Colfax Fluid Handling launches progressive cavity pumps

From World Pumps: The All-Optiflow progressing cavity pumps offer up to twice the flow of standard pumps for applications up to 6 bar (87 psi) and can move virtually any type of liquid, including fibrous and solid materials, with a viscosity up to 300,000 mm2/sec. Its maximum capacity is 3800 l/min.

Colfax's pumps feature high power density to help reduce energy consumption by up to 15% when compared to standard progressive cavity pumps.
